It is very appropriate that it is being held in Bangalore, a premier and fast growing IT hub of India. We are certain you will find the technical program to be intellectually invigorating and of excellent quality.

The conference is preceded by a day of six intensive half-day tutorials, offered by well known experts. The two plenary talks by leaders of their profession in academia and industry respectively, are on topics that are central to the theme of the conference. We wish to thank the plenary and tutorial speakers as well as the authors for their help in making this an exciting, useful and up-to-date conference. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the faculty of IIT Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee, IISc Bangalore, and experts from industries and other organizations, for their help in conducting the technical review of the submitted papers. Special thanks go to the many helpers and volunteers on the conference organizing, steering and local coordination committees for ensuring that the conference proceedings and CD were made on time and for efficiently making arrangements for the smooth conduct of the conference.
